Winona area letter carriers are hoping see a lot of bags of non-perishable food when they make their rounds on Saturday, May 10th.
It's the annual National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive.
The Post Office is asking residents to fill a plastic bag with non-perishable food items and leave it next to their mailboxes.
The bags will be picked on Saturday during regular mail delivery and taken to the post office for transport to Winona Volunteer Services which operates the county food shelves.
Plastic bags were distributed to mailboxes by the letter carriers this week.
This is the largest national food drive and helps the local foodshelves make it through the summer and fall months.
