The Winona County Board of Commissioners has decided to delay acton on a request from former County Administrator Duane Hebert for county data related to his firing last week.
The board voted last week to release Hebert in connection with an independent investigation into a solar panel proposal.
The board decided to seek advice from its insurance carrier and the county attorney's office before complying with Hebert's request. That's because Hebert has indicated he may file a lawsuit against the county.
Board Chair Marcia Ward said the request needs to be reviewed. She said the county wants to keep discussions about the situation as open as possible.
The Hebert request will be brought back to the board at its May 27th meeting. Thus far no lawsuits have been filed against the county in relation to the solar panel proposal.
