Winona Health on Tuesday celebrated receiving the Minnesota Performance Excellence Award by holding a public open house.
The award is based on the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. It is the highest state quality award an organization can attain, and Winona Health is one of only two Minnesota organizations to receive the award this year.
Winona Health President and CEO, Rachelle Schultz, says they have been working towards this goal for over 10 years.
Schultz says the award is a great thing, not only for Winona Health, but the entire community.
Performance Excellence Network serves members and organizations in Minnesota and the Dakota's. Since PEN was founded in 1987, only nine organizations have earned the Excellence award.
