Stark Award Winner

Winona resident John Kennedy was presented with the Thomas Stark Volunteer Award Tuesday night by the United Way of the Greater Winona Area.

The award came at the organization's annual meeting and honored Kennedy for his outstanding volunteerism in the community.

Kennedy has been a volunteer with many organizations and founded the local Big Brothers Big Sisters chapter.

The award was named after the former Winona State University President Thomas Stark and is the highest award presented by the United Way.
The United Way's new executive director Jeff Bartholomew was also on hand as the organization also celebrated its 70th anniversary.
