Authorities say a 23-year-old Minnesota City man who had been wanted in connection with an alleged assault at a Hidden Valley residence on May 12th, was apprehended in Winona early Wednesday.
Police Chief Paul Bostrack said Austin James Baertsch was being sought on an arrest warrant and was discovered inside a vehicle involved in a traffic stop at Fifth and Main Streets just after midnight.
Authorities said Baertsch had been sought on charges including assault causing both harm and fear, and felony false imprisonment.
He was also wanted by La Crosse police on an alleged probation violation.
Baertsch had allegedly assaulted a 25-year-old female at a Hidden Valley residence on May 12th and then fled the scene.
Baertsch told police after his arrest, according to Bostrack he did not know he was being sought and did not assault the female.
