Congressional Art Competition

First District Representative Tim Walz has announced the winners of the 2014 Congressional Art Competition.

Emily Bartz, a senior at Winona High School, is the winner of this year's competition. Emily's painting is titled "Jungle Jumble,".

Second place went to Henry Heins, a 12th grader at Mayo High School, and third place went Ashlee Althoff, a senior at Winona High School.

The first place winners will have their artwork displayed in the Cannon Tunnel, leading to the U.S. Capitol, for an entire year. The 2nd and 3rd place winner will be displayed in the Walz district offices.

Initiated by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives in 1982, the event is a nationwide annual art competition that allows high schools students from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories to showcase their artistic ability.
