The Winona County Board Tuesday discussed a possible update of the job description for the County Administrator position during their committee of the board session.
The board has been reviewing an earlier job description after the firing of County Administrator Duane Hebert earlier this month. Board members have indicated they may want to change some duties and responsibilities of the administrator.
After reviewing the administrator descriptions of 7 other Minnesota counties, including Wabasha and Goodhue, the consensus was the best two counties were Chisago and Crow Wing.
Commissioner Steve Jacob like the fact that several counties stressed good teamwork.
Board Chair Marcia Ward cited Wabasha Counties expenditures limit of $5,000 without board approval.
The board will be presented with a draft description at a future meeting for discussion.
The board has said it would begin a search for a permanent administrator once the job description is clarified and updated.
