First District Congressman Tim Walz has continued his call for changes in the Veterans Affairs adminitreation system.
Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki says he was "too trusting of some" at the VA, and reports of problems in the VA health care system are, in fact, systemic, not isolated to the Phoenix health care facility. Shinseki apologized for the problems Friday and announced a series of actions aimed at addressing them, including ousting the leadership at the Phoenix hospital.
Walz told MSNBC News it's not about Shinseki but about restoring trust among the nation's veterans, including himself, a veteran.
Walz also said the focus needs to be on the vets and the VA system.
Walz is a member of the House Veterans Committee and said he is still having trouble getting the information the committee needs from the V-A.
