On Saturday, June 7th, the public is invited to attend the Trout Day Celebration at the Danuser Valley Creek near Montana, WI from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. to visit the newly restored trout stream.
Members of the Waumandee, Arcadia, and Fountain City Rod & Gun Clubs worked with the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service, WI DNR Fisheries Habitat, Buffalo County Land Conservation and Trout Unlimited to carry out the stream restoration project. Representatives will be on hand to discuss this and other Buffalo County stream restoration opportunities.
The Stream Day will feature free public fishing-no license or trout stamp is required, refreshments, casting games and fly-tying instruction, in-stream electroshocking demonstrations and prizes for the youth. Kids may bring their own fishing poles, a limited quantity is available. There is no admission fee.
The Danuser Valley Stream Day will take place at W524 Palkowski Rd approximately 4 miles north of Waumandee, WI. Watch for signs and parking areas.
