Saloon Burglary

The Winona County Sheriff's Department is investigating the second break-in in a week at Johnny's Saloon in Elba.

Chief Deputy Ron Ganrude said entry on Saturday was gained through a window and $20 in cash from a tip jar was discovered missing. A cash machine was also attempted to be opened but unsuccessfully.

The bar had been entered sometime between 1:15 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the first burglary that occurred a week earlier on May 25th.

Entry also was also gained by prying open a window but it's not known if it was the same window.

The first time the burglars took $8,742 in cash from the establishment.

If you have any information that can help find the burglars you are asked to call the Sheriff's Department. You can also call Winona Area Crime Stoppers where you can remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward.
