Buffalo County Elections

A three-way race for clerk of court in Buffalo County will highlight local balloting in the November general election.

Republican incumbent Roselle Schlosser of Mondovi filed for re-election with opposition from Democrat Denise Hofer of Cochrane, and Independent Miranda Schultz of Mondovi.

Both Schlosser and Hofer will be unopposed in an August partisan primary. As an Independent candidate, Schultz bypasses the primary and already has a spot on the general election ballot in November.

The winner will get a 4-year term.

In other election filings, Buffalo County Clerk Roxann Halverson said incumbent sheriff Michael Schmidtknecht of Waumandee filed for re-election unopposed on the Republican ballot.

No one else filed election papers for sheriff. Incumbent coroner Peter Samb of Mondovi also filed for re-election without opposition.
