Rothering Threats

A 50-year-old Winona man was jailed Sunday after authorities were called to a Hidden Valley residence three times in two days.
Winona County Chief Deputy Ron Ganrude said Daniel Gene Rothering was finally apprehended inside the residence Sunday morning after authorities demanded he give himself up.

Ganrude said deputies responded twice on Saturday when a male resident complained that Rothering was trying to get into the mobile home.

At one point Rothering allegedly threatened the resident and tried to assault him with a metal rod.

Rothering was cited with felony counts of terroristic threats and second degree assault, along with lesser counts of assault, disorderly conduct and damage to property.
