Buffalo County's law enforcement and emergency management committee Monday night accepted the resignation of Jeri Baures who is retiring in September after a 29-year career as a sheriff's administrative assistant.
Baures said her last day of employment will be Sept. 5th. She worked with five sheriffs dating back to Robert Sing in the 1980s.
The committee recommended advertising for a new administrative assistant at a starting wage of $16.20 per hour.
Sheriff Michael Schmidtknecht said a resignation also was received from Jason Bloom, a correction & communication officer who is leaving June 20th to take a patrol officer job in Chippewa County, Wis.
Schmidtknecht said two sheriff's deputies are considering retirement later in the year, but neither had submitted resignation notices to-date.
