Commercial produce farmers interested in learning more about how to improve your farm's food safety practices, should consider attending an on-farm workshop, June 26th, about Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs).
Whitewater Gardens is hosting this workshop put on by the UMN On-Farm GAPs Education Program and UMN Extension - Winona County.
The workshop has information about GAPs, GAP certification, food safety plans, and the Food Safety Modernization Act. You'll also see how Whitewater Gardens implements GAPs on their farm and practice writing risk assessment statements and standard operating procedures.
The workshop runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and the cost is $15 to cover the cost of lunch and refreshments.
Pre-registration is required, visit z.umn.edu/gapsww for more information and to register or call Winona County Extension at 507-457-6440.
