Drug Charges

The Sheriff's Department said a 45-year-old Winona man was jailed Sunday evening on drug charges after a deputy noticed some suspicious activity in Stockton and decided to check it out.
Robert Lee Guenther was cited initially with fifth degree possession of  a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Chief Deputy Ron Ganrude said the deputy noticed a vehicle leave a parking lot about 10:00 p.m. and waited several minutes and then saw it return to join another vehicle.
Turned out a search of the first vehicle found a small amount of methamphetamine, some prescription drugs, nine digital scales, 28 grams of marijuana and other paraphernalia.

The case will be reviewed by the county attorney's office for formal charges.
