The Minnesota Department of Transportation hosted an outreach meeting Thursday on the Winona bridge
project at the Winona County History Center
Terry Ward, MnDOT's project manager, says the goal of the outreach meeting is to make sure the project has a positive impact on the Winona community from an economic perspective and keep the public in the loop.
Ward says previous meetings with groups like the boat house community have led to some ideas like building a kiosk.
Ward says in an effort to keep the public involved in the actual construction of the new bridge, MnDOT is exporing putting webcams on the structure as it's built.
Ward says he still expects the groundbreaking for the new bridge will take place in mid-July.
