Documents filed at the Winona County Recorder's Office indicate properties occupied by Dahl Chevrolet in the Highway 43 bridge project right-of-way have been sold to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The documents indicate 11 parcels were sold for 2.6 million dollars.
The parcels lie on both sides of the current Highway 43 bridge between Third and Fourth Streets and extend to Huff Street on the west.
That brings the total of properties acquired by MnDOT for the bridge project to 10 so far.
According to the documents, MnDOT has spent 3.6 million dollars to date in right-of-way purchases.
Eight other properties have gone into condemnation proceedings. Most are apartment rental properties. MnDOT Project Manager Terry Ward said tose proceedings were at the request of the property owners.
Ward told Winoa Radio News earlier that MnDOT hopes to have all of the right-of-way purchases completed by the end of this year.
Dahl Chevrolet has submitted a site plan to the city of Winona for property west of Dahl Toyota along Highway 61 where it wants to move its Chevrolet business. That plan goes before the Winona Planning Commission for review on Monday at 4:30 p.m. at City Hall.
