The Minnesota Department of Transportation has closed Highway 60 at the entrance to the City of Wabasha because of flooding.
The highway enters Wabasha off Highway 61 and there is water over the roadway.
MnDOT says a detour has been posted to allow vehicles to enter the city via Hiawatha Drive off Highway 61 at the north end of Wabasha.
Highway 60 will remain closed until the water recedes.
The National Weather Service is predicting the MIssissippi River in Wabasha will crest at 13.9 feet on Saturday before its starts to recede.
Meanwhile, Wabasha officials say despite the flooding the city remains open along with its businesses and attractions. Main Street is not flooded and the parks are dry. The National Eagle Center remains open and active along with other city attractions like Lark Toys.
