The Winona Area Public School received an update last week on the 2015 preliminary budget.
WAPS Director of Finance, Dan Pyan, told the board current projections show the fund balance is down about 2.5-percent below the goal of 16.67 percent. Pyan says the preliminary budget shows spending about 2.1 million dollars from it's reserve funds.
Pyan did say the number are very fluid and expects the district will get it's reserves back up to it's target number in the future.
The projected fund balance is within the parameters set by the Board in the negotiation process. Pyan said the projected fund balance has changed since May because of the payroll costs have been updated to reflect the settlement of all the labor contracts.
