Rivers Surveyed

A newly-published report by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, for the first time combines statewide water monitoring surveys, dating back to 1995, with current surveys.

It's an ongoing effort to identify problem areas, possible trends, and provide more complete information as the M-P-C-A develops watershed restoration and protection strategies throughout the state.

The next statewide survey will begin in 2015. That, combined with this new report, will help further identify short-term changes and build on the agency's understanding of long-term trends.

The report, called "The Condition of Rivers and Streams in Minnesota", can be found on the MPCA's Web site at www.pca.state.mn.us.
