The Goodview City Council will hear from three guest speakers when the council meets Monday night.
Winona County Commissioner Wayne Valentine will update the council on the happenings in the county. Sheriff's candidate Ron Ganrude will address the council and introduce himself. He is one of six candidates running for sheriff in the August 12th primary.
Former Winona Mayor Jerry Miller will be on hand to update the council on the Minnesota State High Speed Rail Commission which is pushing for future high speed trains to use the Mississippi River corridor that runs through Winona and Goodview. Miller formally chaired the commission
The council is also expected to award a contract for the 65th Avenue and Fifth Street utility and street improvement project.
The apparent low bidder is A-1 Excavating whose bid was just over 1.6 million dollars.
The Goodview City Council meets at 5:00 p.m. Monday at the city office.
