An autopsy is being conducted on the body of a female found at the Great River Bluffs State Park near Dakota on July 4th.
Chief Deputy Winona County Sheriff Ron Ganrude said his office was notified at 4:49 p.m. Friday that a person who was scheduled to check out of the campground at 4:00 p.m. was still there.
A deputy found the 57-year-old Rochester woman unresponsive inside a vehicle parked at her campsite.
Ganrude said the body was transported to the Mayo Clinic for an autopsy.
He said there was no sign of any foul play and no indication of any trauma or injuries on the body.
Ganrude said the woman's name was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
Ganrude said it appeared the woman, who was alone, had self-checked in earlier on Friday.
