The Houston County Sheriff's Department is getting a new piece of equipment to assist them with their traffic enforcement efforts.
Sheriff Doug Ely says the new radar device will help keep drivers safe and at legal speeds.
The Sheriff's Department has been awarded a Stalker DSR 2X radar unit.
It's one of the most advanced and easiest to use Law Enforcement Traffic Radars. It's actually two radars in one operating on a single 5-window, multi-color display.
The equipment is being awarded to law enforcement departments that have shown a considerable commitment to the 'Toward Zero Deaths' effort statewide...and comes from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
