Former State Representative Matt Entenza says being the Minnesota State Auditor is more than balancing the books.

Entenza forced a DFL primary election in August when he entered the race a month ago to oppose current DFL state auditor Rebecca Otto who has served for the last eight years.

Entenza says their are many other issues he is concerned about.

Entenza also says the current auditor's office has been very quiet over the last eight years and he wants to change that bringing more focus to issues like social security and pension management.

Entenza served in the Minnesota House and was the House majority leader. He ran an unsuccessful candidacy for Governor in 2010.

He says he knows the auditor's job and and is qualified for the position..
