Winona State Hires Assistant Soccer Coach



One of the most decorated soccer players in Winona State history is returning to her alma mater as an assistant coach.  Holly Sutton, a two-time NSIC Player of the Year during her playing time at WSU, will work under her former coach Ali Omar.  Sutton was also a two-time first team all-American in her final two years at Winona State.
           
Sutton is second in program history in total points and third in goals scored with 41.  She is tied for the most game-winning goals with 14. 
           
After graduating from Winona State, Sutton became the head soccer coach at Rogers High School from 2009-2013.  Sutton led Rogers to the Minnesota State Class A championship in 2010.  She was the Minnesota State Coach of the Year in 2013 and her teams claimed conference titles in three of her five seasons.
