The six candidates running for Winona County Sheriff in the August 12th, primary have been invited to appear before the Lewiston Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday.
The Chamber meets at noon at the Lewiston Country Club.
The format will include a short statement from each candidate and then a question and answer period involving Lewiston business representatives.
All business members as well as interested constituents are invited to attend.
Five of the six candidates are all current members of the Winona County Sheriff's Department: Ron Ganrude, Kraig Glover, Rod Hanson, Rob Averbeck and Bill Spitzer. The sixth candidate is retired Winona police sergeant Gary Hoeppner.
Two of the six will advance to the November general election.
The November winner will replace outgoing Sheriff Dave Brand who will retire at the end of the year after 16 years as sheriff.
