The Wnona County Developmental Achievement Center held a groundbreaking ceremony this weekend while celebrating its 50th anniversary .
Spokesman Ryan Buhler says two 1,800 square foot additions will be constructed to give the center more space. Buhler says one addition will expand a work space that has been outgrown and make it safer.
The second project will add another 1,800 square feet to a smaller area now used as a part-time cafeteria.
Buhler says they hope to finish the first addition by late fall with construction of the second addition next spring.
The project will cost an estimated $306,000 and the DAC is seeking community support in funding the projects.
