The Winona Unit of the League of Women Voters will hold a pair of candidate forums coming up on Wednesday, July 23rd, at City Hall.
The forums will involve the six candidates running for Winona County Sheriff and the three candidates seeking the second district seat on the Winona County Board of Commissioners.
That commissioner's seat is being held by incumbent Wayne Valentine who is being challenged by Jerry Moen and Marie Kovesci.
The sheriff's candidates are Ron Ganrude, Kraig Glover, Bill Spitzer, Rod Hanson, and Rob Averbeck ...all current sheriff's deputies, with exception of Hanson who retired recently...and former Police Sergeant Gary Hoeppner.
The top two vote-getters in each race will advance from the August 12th primary to the general election.
The sheriff's forum will start at 6:00 p.m. with the commissioner's forum starting at 7:30 p.m.
