Republican gubernatorial candidate Kurt Zellers announced that he has renewed his earlier pledge to never increase taxes on Minnesotans and is not committed to raise state taxes if elected governor of Minnesota in November. Zellers' running mate, Dean Simpson, has also signed the pledge.
Zellers said after record tax increases imposed by Governor Mark Dayton and the DFL-controlledLegislature over the past two years, Minnesotans are looking for a leader who will not add to their tax burdens.
Officeholders and political candidates from across the country have committed to the Americans for Tax Reform tax pledge. While in office, Zellers has consistently signed - and acted on the no-tax-increase pledge, both as a state legislator and as Speaker of the House.
