Way to Wellness-Winona Health
Representatives of 'The Way to Wellness' campaign will be in Winona on Monday to pay a site visit and learn more about the community and Winona Health.
Winona has been chosen as one of ten finalists for the national competition to find five communities to participate. The final five will be part of a competition over five years for the greatest improvement in five measures of health.
The initiative is sponsored by a non profit organization founded by angel investor Esther Dyson to encourage community-led innovation that results in healthier people and places.
The site visit will last from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
It will include stops at Miller Ingenuity, the East Recreation Center, Minnesota Marine Art Museum, a Home and Community Options resident home, the Lake Park Lodge, and Garvin Heights, as well as at Winona Health.
The announcement of the final five communities across the nation who will participate in the five-year challenge will be made sometime in August.
