Rob Averbeck, a current Winona County  Sheriff's deputy, is one of six candidates running for the Sheriff's position.
Averbeck tells Winona Radio News he would like to see a night supervisor put back on the late shift that would help speed up follow ups to calls.

Averbeck says he would like to see more patrols on rural roads as well, which would help curb crime and provide better community service.

The other sheriff's candidates include Ron Ganrude, Kraig Glover, Bill Spitzer, Rod Hanson and Gary Hoeppner.

The top two vote getters will advance from the August 12th primary to the general election.
