County Board

The Winona County Board of Commissioners will seek some outside help when it comes to hiring a new county administrator.

Board members Tuesday gave their final approval to an updated job description-classification for the position but also decided to hire Olmsted County in the search for a replacement for Duane Hebert.

Interim County Administrator Maureen Holte said some of the search work can be done in-house but her office needs Olmsted County's help in going through applications and setting up interviews.

The County Board still needs to determine how much it is willing to pay for Olmsted County's help.

In addition, Commissioner Steve Jacob called for a review of the administrator's office to see if an assistant county administrator is still needed.

More information will be brought back to the board soon before the board determines when the job will be posted. The board will make the final decision on who to hire.
