Minnesota Primary

Primary elections are being held for four different local races in Winona County Tuesday.
The biggest race will be for county sheriff where six candidates will be narrowed to two who will move on to the November 4th general election.

In addition, three candidates for the County Board's second district seat will be trimmed to two, and four candidates running for county auditor-treasurer will be trimmed to two.

In the Winona City Council's Fourth Ward three candidates will be cut to two.

In Wabaha County, there are primary races in three county board districts. Three candidates will be narrowed to two in both the second and fifth districts.

Statewide, the field of Republican candidates for Governor will be trimmed from five to two and two Democrats running for state auditor-treasurer will be narrowed to one.

In the First District Congressional race two Republicans will be narrowed to one. In the U-S Senate race two Republicans will also be narrowed to one.

Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. To find out where you vote call the Winona County Auditor-Treasurer's Office. You can also use a poll-finder located at the MinnesotaSecretary of State's website.
