Johnson Primary Win

Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson says the Republican party is uniting behind him now after his victory in Tuesday's primary election for Governor.

Johnson told Winona Radio News the other Republican candidates who lost out are now backing him.

Johnson says he wants to carry his message of making state government work better and more efficiently into the race against Democratic Governor Mark Dayton.

Johnson also said if elected he will call for an audit of all state taxpayer-funded programs and weed out the bad ones.

Johnson said his first legislation if elected would be a bill to increase jobs in the state by looking closely at reforming the tax code.
