The Winona Developmental Achievement Center says it has nearly reached its fundraising goal for two new additions.
Spokesman Ryan Buhler says they have reached $292,000.
The goal in the "50 Years of Caring, 50 Days of Sharing" campaign is $305,000.
Construction began July 29th, on the first of two new additions on its building along Highway 61. The 1,800 square foot expansion on the west side of the building is scheduled for completion next spring.
A second 1,800 square foot addition will be added when the first one is completed.
The additional space is needed because the DAC recently saw its license expanded to handle six more clients up to 75. It currently serves 63 clients. The center expects to have a 25-percent growth in clients over the next few years.
