The Winona City Council will begin its annual review of pending budgets next week with a pair of meetings at City Hall. The council will review the proposed 2015 budget next Monday and Tuesday, August 25th and 26th at 4:30 p.m. each day. The sessions will be held in the Wenonah Room and are open to the public. During each session various department heads will present their proposed budgets and council members will decide where any cuts might be made. The preliminary property tax levy will need to be set by mid-September. After that the levy amount cannot be raised but it can be reduced pending a final hearing in December.
