While work is underway on the construction of the new Highway 43 bridge in Winona, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is already planning for the rehab of the existing bridge set to begin in two years.
Project Manager Terry Ward said already plans for the current bridge are moving forward.
Part of that planning is what will be developed under the two bridges and Ward says recommendations from a local Visual Quality committee will be taken into consideration.
Ward said negotiations with the city on the city's cost and future responsibilities are ongoing.
Ward said the under-bridge project design needs to be completed by late January when bids for the current bridge work will be let.
