Winona Police said two people are facing criminal charges after authorities responded to a large disturbance at Seventh and Center streets late Tuesday.
Police Chief Paul Bostrack said when officers arrived about 11:40 p.m. there were about 20 young people in the area and many of them fled.
20-year-old Calvin Lamb was cited with underage consumption of alcohol and obstruction. 20-year-old Daniel Arndt was cited with fourth degree felony assault on a police officer, along with obstruction, and fleeing on foot.
A third person, identified as 19-year-old Yaree Watford sustained injuries during the incident and was taken to Winona Health by ambulance to be checked out.
Bostrack said Lamb allegedly spit in an officer's face while resisting arrest and sitting in a squad car.
Lamb allegedly interfered by sticking a cellphone in front of an officer claiming to be recording while the officer was assessing injuries to Watford who was also cited with minor consumption.
Bostrack said the entire incident apparantly stemmed from a disturbance at a loud party at 318 Center Street.
