Candidate Debates

Two Republican candidates running for Congress in Minnesota are challenging their Democratic opponents to a series of debates.

Jim Hagedorn, who is seeking the first congressional seat held by Tim Walz, wants to debate Walz four times across the district before the November election.

One of the debates would be in Winona and another in Rochester and would last 90 minutes.

Mike McFadden, who will be opposing Al Franken in the U-S Senate race, has challenged Franken to six debates with one of those debates in Rochester.

Governor Mark Dayton has agreed to debate his Republican opponent, Jeff Johnson. six times after Labor Day.
