Drug Arrest

A 24-year-old Rochester man was jailed early Monday on felony drug charges.

Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said an officer ran a check on a vehicle parked in east side parking lot and learned there was a warrant out on the owner.

When the officer stopped the vehicle about 1:40  a.m., a search was conducted of the vehicle and authorities turned up substances that tested positive for both synthetic drugs and cocaine.

Cited with possession of synthetic drugs and cocaine was Christopher Warren Colon, who was driving, but was not the vehicle's owner.

Williams said some eight plastic baggies were found in the vehicle that appeared to be prepared for sale.

The baggies contained both synthetic drugs and cocaine. The total amount was about 27-grams.

The case was referred to the county attorney's office for determination of formal charges.
