Non-union personnel employed as communication/correction officers in the Buffalo County Sheriff's Department have received 1.25 percent pay raises.
Law enforcement employees that serve double duty as dispatchers and jailers had not received a pay increase since 2012, according to county finance and human resources supervisors.
Personnel on the payroll in 2013 were granted retroactive pay raises back to Jan. 1, 2013. The county's human resources committee is studying pay grades and compensation plans for all non-union county employees for 2014 and 2015.
The net payroll adjustment for increased dispatcher/jailer pay will be taken from a contingency fund balance that was budgeted in 2013.
