Holiday Travel

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is urging motorists to use extra caution traveling through highway work zones over the Labor Day holiday.

Triple-A is predicting holiday travel will increase by 1.4 percent over the weekend as nearly 30-million travelers hit the road in the U-S.

There are some highway projects in southeastern Minnesota that might affect travel.

Be aware in Winona County of an 8-mile pavement project on I-90 that has the interstate narrowed to single-lane traffic between Highway 76 and Nodine.

The I-90 bridge at Dresbach also has single-lane traffic at the Wisconsin-Minnesota border.

And I-90 from the Stewartville exit and the Eyota exit also has one-lane traffic.

Remember, fines increase significantly in work zones.
