Rushford School Study

The Rushford City Council has decided to spilt the cost of a $10,000 study with the school district on the future of the Rushford-Peterson school facilities.
The Tri-County Record says the study will be conducted to determine the possible uses of the current school buildings if the district's proposed referendum for financing a new  K-through-12 school building passes in November.
School district and city officials have been worried about the future of the historic buildings and how it might affect the election if voters think the buildings might go into disrepair or be torn down.
The study, approved by the school board earlier, calls for a steering committee composed of community leaders and residents to discuss future possible uses of the buildings if the referendum passes.
