The Winona City Council on Tuesday will be asked to approve a preliminary 2015 budget and property tax levy.
The 46-million dollar balanced budget calls for a 3-point-9 percent increase in the property tax levy when compared to the 2014 levy.
That increase may go even higher if the council decides to add 1-point-4 million dollars for some needed or mandated upgrades to the Bud King Ice Arena which would take the tax levy increase to over 6-percent..
Also the Council will be asked to review some proposed fee increases and set public hearing on those proposals.
The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
At 5:45 p.m. the councilmembers will be presented with the Masonic Temple Structure Review Report, outlying what work needs to be done to upgrade the building that houses the Senior Friendship Center.
Both meetings are open to the public and are being held on Tuesday because of the Labor Day holiday on Monday.
