The Lanesboro Arts, Commonweal Theatre, Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center, the Lanesboro Museum, and Friends of the Root River, in cooperation with the Minnesota Humanities Center, will host a special traveling Smithsonian Museum exhibit next month.
Water/Ways, a traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian's Museum on Main Street program will be on view in the events hall at Commonweal Theatre January 7th through February 19th.
The exhibit reveals the central nature of water in our lives by exploring how we relate to water-how we use water, how water unites communities, and how water affects every element of life.
We Are Water MN, an interactive story collection exhibit developed by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, Minnesota Humanities Center and other state partners, will also be on display at Commonweal Theater alongside Water/Ways.
Opening ceremony festivities will begin on January 7th with a water blessing at the Lanesboro Dam at 3 p.m. A ribbon cutting and opening ceremony with state and local leaders will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Commonweal Theatre.
