Winona State (5-4, 2-3 NSIC) held Upper Iowa (7-4, 4-1 NSIC) to just 36.5% shooting on Saturday and left Fayette, Iowa with a big 85-67 win. The Warriors got career nights from Corey Jeffs, Josh Mongan and Tommy Gathje in the victory.

The Peacocks scored the first six points of the game but Winona State roared back, scoring the game's next seven points and took a 7-6 lead. The game would remain tight as the clock went under eight minutes to play in the first half.


FAYETTE, Iowa. - Winona State (10-2, 5-1 NSIC), down by six going into the final quarter, scored 23 fourth quarter points to pull away from Upper Iowa (0-10, 0-6 NSIC) in a 68-58 victory. Jenny Tuttle and Kayla Timmerman scored 17 points each to lead the way.
 
The Warriors connected on the first basket and had the lead until a Peacocks three-pointer gave them the advantage five minutes into the first quarter. A Kayla Timmerman three-pointer would help the Warriors regain the lead late in the quarter. The first ten minutes ended with Winona State holding a 23-16 lead.
