This weekend's second large snowfall brought two snow emergencies to Winona and a large number of vehicles were tagged and towed for violating the alternate side parking ordinance.
Police said a total of 184 vehicles were tagged with $25 fines for parking on the wrong side of the street. 113 of those vehicles were towed away.
The operations were conducted early Sunday and early today (Monday) between the hours of midnight and 6:30 a.m. 78 vehicles were tagged early Sunday and 49 were towed. 106 vehicles were tagged early today (Monday) and 64 of them were towed away.
It can cost vehicle owners over $100 to retrieve a towed vehicle in addition to the $25 fine.
Remember, park your vehicle on the even side of the street on even numbered dates and on the odd side on odd-numbered dates between the hours of midnight and 6:30 a.m.
