Hiawatha Broadband Communications of Winona has announced it has acquired the wireless Internet operations of Alma, Wisconsin-based, Riverland Communications.
The agreement was completed Friday, December 23rd, 2016 with HBC to begin serving Riverland Communications wireless Internet customers immediately with technical and service support.
HBC Presiudent and CEO Dan Pecarina said HBC is in the process of transitioning Riverland's current equipment to the enhanced capabilities of HBC Air service which will provide customers with much faster speed offerings resulting in an enjoyable broadband experience.
Former Riverland wireless Internet customers will be offered speed increases from a current maximum of 6 Mbps to up to 40 Mbps following equipment upgrades.
Pecarina added that Riverland customers will not need to do anything to continue receiving their service and that HBC will be mailing additional information soon regarding the change......
