The Winona school district is getting ready to kick off two new and innovative programs designed for students not that interested in school.
High School Principal Mark Anderson says one is the REACH program being developed with a new partnership with the Winona and Minnesota Chambers of Commerce. It will connect Career nd College Readiness with local businesses who are looking for more than just high school graduates.
Anderson says some 45 students have been invited to take part in the REACH program.
The new AVID, or Advancement Via Individual Determination program, will be implemented starting next fall in the middle school, according to Anderson.
The goal is for middle school students to have a chance to be involved in the new study program....
