WAPS Referendum



The Winona Area Public School Board has decided to delay a referendum on the future of the school facilities in the district.

The board had been advised by a consultant to hold the referendum in May but board members Thursday night moved the vote to next fall instead.

The decision is seen as way for the board members to further study the issues surrounding the possible closure on three elementary schools. 

The board will now consider a possible new elementary school on the city's east side, the re-using of the three elementary buildings slated for closure, and a chance to further engage the Rollingstone community over the possible closure of the Rollingstone school.....
